Alex joined Cortland in 2016 and is currently a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager covering Cortland's private debt fund strategies. Alex manages Cortland's underwriting and portfolio management team which is responsible for comprehensive credit and risk analysis through its due diligence on pipeline investment opportunities. He contributes to setting strategic direction of the firm and refining Cortland's investment policies to adapt to evolving market dynamics.

Alex serves as a member of Cortland's Credit Committee, convening regularly to review prospective transactions and existing holdings to ensure their alignment with the company's investment policy and processes.

He has previously held positions at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management and Caldwell Investment Management. Alex is a graduate of the BBA program specializing in Finance at Wilfrid Laurier University and is a CFA Charterholder.
