Cortland started in this industry 13+ years ago when there were few private debt lenders, and we very much wanted to carve our own path. Our investment thesis allowed us to identify and invest in historically overlooked assets, which remains true today.
We've come a long way, from starting our firm in a small office above a bike store in Oakville to building, what we believe, is a distinct and recognizable private debt platform in Canada with a head office in Downtown Toronto. With investments in Canada, the United States, and Europe, today we work with growing companies to provide much-needed working capital while helping business owners avoid dilution of their equity.
