Experience

Rachael Andrew is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Cortland Credit Group Inc., where she leads the firm’s legal, governance, and enterprise risk functions. Since joining Cortland in 2021, she has played a central role in strengthening the firm’s legal and governance framework, supporting its growth and enhancing institutional standards across the platform. Rachael advises the board of directors and senior management on complex transactional, regulatory, and strategic matters and works closely with internal teams and external advisors on the structuring and execution of Cortland’s private credit investments.

Prior to joining Cortland, Rachael practiced at Dentons Canada LLP in the firm’s Banking and Finance Group, where she represented both lenders and borrowers in domestic and cross border financings. Her experience spans a broad range of commercial lending matters, providing her with a strong foundation in sophisticated financial transactions.

Rachael holds a Juris Doctor from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School and degrees from Western University.

Rachael was a finalist for the Canadian General Counsel Awards – Sun Life’s Tomorrow’s Leader Award in 2025.
